Muhammad Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri Sigurjonsson, and Chile’s Juan Pablo were officially declared dead today by their families and friends in a Press Conference held in Skardu. During K2 Winter Expedition 2021, five mountaineers lost their lives including Ali Sadpara. Ali has successfully hosted the Pakistan flag on the eight highest peaks of the world out of 14. He was a man of grit and determination and was a great patriot. Ali started his career as a high-altitude porter and help mountaineers to climb. His passion to climb and raise Pakistan’s flag on the tallest peaks of the world made him a successful mountaineer. He was truly the warrior of mountains.
Sajid Sadpara, son of Ali Sadpara was also with his father but he returned back due to malfunctioning in his oxygen equipment. Sajid said in a press conference that he will follow the footsteps of his father and will continue to climb the peaks. Pakistan Army has conducted the historic search operation for the missing three mountaineers till today. As he and his two companions were gone missing at the dangerous point of the Killer Mountain the search operation was very difficult. Experts from Pakistan Army experienced climbers, and weather experts have concluded that human beings cannot survive in such harsh conditions for so long.
