Careem NOW has partnered with a number of famous retailers in Dubai including Lulu Hypermarket, 7-Eleven, Nescafe Dolce Gusto, Al Manara Pharmacy, Four Seasons Pharmacy, and many others. General Manager of Careem United Arab Emirates, Gheed El Makkaoui has claimed that in times like these, Careem will ensue an important role that will assist not only customers but also their partners and employees. Also, Makkaoui explains that the company has a staunch disinfection program. This program will help minimize the chances of contracting the virus amid deliveries or services. 

This launch comes to light amid the whole strict rule of applying for a permit from Dubai Police before residents wish to leave their home for groceries or any other necessary items. An extension of its on-demand service includes ‘Careem box’. This service enables customers the option to request Careem pick and drop or shop and drop; where the driver or the captain buys items on behalf of the customers and drops them to the designated place. This exclusive service will also be launched in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. 

Hopefully, the service will expand to other countries as well including Pakistan wherein, the need for a service like this can help enable a more strict lockdown. This is aptly required in order to bring the situation under control as cases have been rising two folds since March.

Careem Bus has been launched in Karachi

The Careem Bus service application is available on both android and iOS. All you have to do is download the app and sign up for the service. Once done you can easily enter your destination and select the nearest route for your convenience. However, for now, the bus service covers only 10 routes available at 10 am that too only on weekdays. Good news is, you can book the service in 1 rupee as well!

Unlike SWVL, Careem Bus basically operates using eight-seater minivan. Previously, available to book using the Careem Go-mini category. We believe there are plans to expand the operations to a full-seater bus. Which will help students looking to opt for a cheaper conveyance. Careem Bus operates in three other countries as well. Including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Pakistan is the fourth country where the service has been made available. Unfortunately, the service has shut down in Jordan. 

Hopefully, this service picks up in Pakistan! There is a need to operationalize public transport and extend services all over the country.

Careem operates in more than 100 cities in the Middle East with a net worth of $3.1 billion. It is backed by investing giants among which there is an investment firm owned by the Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and as well as Rakuten Inc. which is a Japanese e-commerce giant.

This deal, if it becomes successful, would definitely be of major benefits to Uber as to the Middle East belongs world’s one of the biggest investor Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, states Bloomberg.

In another perspective, this could be an offering made for people who want to go to a place that is very special, be it an event, or anything you want to make memorable.

The Business Plus option would be to attract the niche which didn’t use to avail the services of Careem. They will be assured of getting the best and the most comfortable riding experience.

This feature has yet not gone live for as now, but is expected to be launched in the coming few days.
